Bill Proposed to Allow HSA Distributions for Home Care Expenses
Representative Adrian Smith (R-NE), along with several co-sponsors have re-introduced the Homecare for Seniors Act — a bill that would allow funds to be used from health savings accounts (HSAs) for qualified home care services. Qualified home care would include meal preparation, bathing, dressing, transferring, toileting, continence and medication adherence. Such services would be provided by a service provider which is licensed by the state to provide such services or otherwise provided in a manner that is consistent with state requirements.
